Eric Trump has refuted allegations of inquiring with a UFC commentator about potential rigging of fights at his father’s birthday event held at the White House. Screenshots of a conversation between commentator Daniel Cormier and Trump, discussing the health of fighters and the possibility of rigged fights, were later deleted. Cormier publicly shared the screenshots, expressing his disapproval of such claims.
Denying the accusations, Trump dismissed the screenshots as AI-generated and fake. He emphasized never contacting Daniel and labeled the situation as alarming. In the alleged messages, an account attributed to Eric Trump questioned the legitimacy of upcoming fights, to which Cormier responded with shock at the suggestion.
Addressing the situation online, Trump highlighted his team’s awareness of the fabricated screenshots being circulated. He urged caution in reporting, clarifying the falsehood of the claims and stating his lack of association with Daniel. Cormier seemingly distanced himself from the post, prompting Trump to acknowledge the clarification.
Contradictory statements arose when MMA reporter Adam Martin claimed to have witnessed Cormier’s original post before its removal. Martin asserted the legitimacy of Cormier’s tweet and speculated on potential hacking as the reason behind the post’s deletion. Despite the online back-and-forth, questions regarding the authenticity of the messages lingered.
