Chilean Air Force Plane Crashes in Coquimbo: Pilots Safe

An Air Force aircraft from Chile was engulfed in flames following a crash, prompting a search operation for the two pilots involved. The incident occurred this morning in the Coquimbo region when the Pillán T-35 plane went down.

According to local reports, the aircraft departed from El Bosque Air Base in Santiago and was en route to Antofagasta when it encountered mechanical issues approximately 20 miles away from La Serena. The plane subsequently crashed and caught fire, but both pilots miraculously survived the ordeal.

Authorities discovered the wreckage of the aircraft in El Maray, a town situated in the Quebrada Honda region, where it ignited. Emergency responders successfully located the pilots in good health after an extensive search effort was launched following the crash.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the accident, as stated by the Chilean Air Force. The official statement from the Air Force confirmed that the T-35 Pillan aircraft belonging to the Aviation School ‘Captain Manuel Avalos Prado’ made an emergency landing near La Serena without any injuries to the crew or civilians on the ground.
