Aldi is set to introduce 24 new stores across the UK, with 16 of them scheduled to open in the near future. The discount retailer has also filed planning applications for stores at eight additional locations in the country, including a recent proposal for a £7 million branch at Wirral Waters in Seacombe, Merseyside.
Known for its affordability, Aldi consistently ranks as one of the UK’s most economical supermarkets and has been progressively expanding its presence in recent years. Surpassing Morrisons, Aldi is now the fourth-largest supermarket chain in the UK.
In addition to the eight proposed sites, Aldi has confirmed plans for 16 new locations where it will establish stores in the coming months. “Our £370 million investment in new stores this year will enable us to extend Aldi’s unmatched value to more communities, while also supporting local economies through our competitive pay structure for employees,” stated Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK.
