Aldi is gearing up to launch 16 new stores in the upcoming months and has unveiled a comprehensive list of locations. The discount grocery chain will be expanding its presence in various areas such as Watford and Hoxton in London, Hattersley in Greater Manchester, and Balsall Common in the West Midlands.
With a current count of more than 1,080 stores nationwide, Aldi aims to reach 1,500 branches as part of its long-term strategy. The latest store openings are a part of Aldi’s substantial £370 million investment in new outlets scheduled for 2026.
Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, expressed the company’s dedication to providing high-quality, affordable food to all consumers. He emphasized that the investment in new stores will bring Aldi’s exceptional value to additional communities, contributing to local economies and offering competitive wages to employees.
In a recent announcement, Aldi disclosed plans to revamp 25 stores across the UK this summer. Upgrades will include enhanced shopping space, sustainable features like energy-efficient fridge doors, and improvements to bakery, health and beauty, and fresh food sections in select locations. These enhancements align with Aldi’s commitment to delivering an optimal shopping experience and supporting sustainability initiatives.
Moreover, Aldi has introduced a new wave of price reductions on more than 200 products, covering a range of everyday essentials from fresh and frozen foods to household and personal care items. The supermarket has already invested over £200 million in price cuts this year, including £60 million in reductions introduced recently. Despite these savings, customers are advised to compare prices to ensure they are getting the best deals available.
