“Airline Disturbance: Woman Bites Officer Over Bag Fee”

A woman allegedly bit a police officer after causing a disturbance on an airplane by refusing to pay for excess baggage. Despite airline staff preventing her from boarding a JetSmart flight due to overweight hand luggage, she managed to sneak onto flight JA 3104 just before it departed from Buenos Aires to Cordoba.

Airport police were called to remove her from the plane, leading to a struggle inside the cabin. During the altercation, the woman reportedly bit a female assistant officer on the right arm in front of other passengers. Videos taken by passengers captured the chaotic scene as officers tried to restrain her, receiving applause when she was finally escorted off the aircraft.

The incident occurred at Jorge Newbery Airpark in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Tuesday. The woman received medical treatment for minor injuries at the airport after being apprehended. The flight experienced a brief delay before taking off.

JetSmart had been conducting thorough hand-luggage checks at the gate, including requesting passengers to remove jackets to prevent concealed items. The airline has not made any public statements regarding the incident.

Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Federal Court No. 3 has ordered the woman’s detention and gathered statements from the injured officer, a shift supervisor, and JetSmart crew members who witnessed the event. No formal charges have been announced yet, and the case is currently under judicial review.
