Netflix has announced a new three-part documentary series titled “The One About Matthew Perry,” promising a comprehensive look at the life of the Canadian-born actor. The series will explore Perry’s journey from a rising comedy star to his iconic role on “Friends,” featuring never-before-heard accounts from his inner circle, including lifelong friends and his sister Mia Perry Bowick, who is a grief-focused psychotherapist.
Mia Perry Bowick shared that it took time for her to be ready to reveal her memories of Matthew and portray him as a multifaceted individual beyond his on-screen persona or addiction struggles. Perry tragically passed away at the age of 54 due to a ketamine overdose in his backyard hot tub. Several individuals have pleaded guilty to charges related to the supply of the drug, with Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who sold Perry ketamine, currently appealing his 30-month prison sentence.
The upcoming docuseries will not only feature fond recollections of Perry but also delve into his personal challenges, aiming to honor his commitment to honesty and advocacy. The series is set to premiere on October 27th.
