A model who went missing while on vacation in Serbia has been tragically discovered deceased inside a suitcase.

Lyudmila Turkova, aged 27, disappeared after heading out to meet friends at a nightclub in Belgrade and was missing for six days.

Her body was found in a suitcase discarded in the Vizelj canal, with locals spotting it and alerting the authorities.

At Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport, a 25-year-old Turkish man known only as K.E. was apprehended while attempting to leave the country, now considered the primary suspect in the murder case according to police reports.

Police dogs assisted in locating Ms. Turkova’s remains in the water, although the exact cause of her death has not been disclosed by the officers.

Reports indicate that an autopsy will be conducted at the Institute of Forensic Medicine to ascertain the cause of death.

Described in a missing persons appeal, Turkova was 5ft 1inch tall with long blonde hair, a nose piercing, and distinctive tattoos including two snakes on her left thigh, a large calligraphic design on her right lower leg, and Japanese-style tattoos on her shoulders.

Originally from St Petersburg, Russia, she had a diverse career working as a promoter, bartender, and body-art model.

Turkova had planned a two-week stay in Belgrade but disappeared on July 25, last contacting others after 11pm before her phone went offline.
