A young child suffered severe facial injuries after being attacked by a dog at a pub in Staffordshire. The incident occurred in the beer garden of The Wulstan in Wolstanton on Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the child covered in blood and pub guests in a state of panic.
The toddler, aged two, received immediate treatment at the location for his injuries before being transported to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further medical attention. Staffordshire Police confirmed that the boy has since been released from the hospital.
Philip Preece, a regular patron at the pub, recounted witnessing the attack and identified the dog as possibly belonging to a Bulldog breed. He described the child as playing with toys and enjoying a family meal before the sudden and tragic incident unfolded.
Emergency services, including paramedics and the ambulance, arrived promptly at the scene to assist the injured child. A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service stated that the boy was treated for his serious injuries on-site before being taken to the hospital for additional care.
