A British tourist was taken into custody for allegedly attempting to kiss a flight attendant on the neck while traveling to Spain. Authorities intervened on the Ryanair flight from London Stansted upon its arrival in Mallorca and detained the individual following confirmation from the crew member about pressing charges.
The 30-year-old individual was purportedly heavily intoxicated and began causing disturbances on the aircraft. The pilot contacted air traffic control at Palma Airport before landing, requesting police assistance due to the alleged incident of misconduct.
Initially hesitant to file a formal complaint, the flight attendant later decided to provide a statement to the police. Despite being identified, the tourist managed to exit the plane and clear passport control before eventually being apprehended while trying to board the return flight.
After a court appearance, the individual was released on bail pending further investigation into the incident that occurred on June 29. The Brit, whose identity remains undisclosed, was seen entering court premises in handcuffs accompanied by Civil Guard officers.
As of now, it remains uncertain whether the individual is still in Mallorca or has departed the island on a different flight. Requests for comments have been made to Ryanair and the Spanish Civil Guard by The Mirror.
