“Serena Williams Withdraws from Wimbledon Doubles Due to Knee Injury”

Serena Williams has withdrawn from the women’s doubles event at Wimbledon after sustaining a knee injury during her singles match against Maya Joint. The injury forced her to pull out of the doubles competition where she was set to partner with her sister Venus. The Williams sisters will be replaced by a lucky loser, with Venus also exiting the mixed doubles alongside Kevin Krawietz.

In a statement on Instagram, Serena expressed her disappointment at having to withdraw from the doubles, emphasizing the significance of playing alongside Venus once again. Despite her efforts to recover in time, her knee did not heal sufficiently for her to compete.

Earlier, Serena had expressed hope of playing doubles with her sister, thanking the tournament director and fans for their support during her comeback. She shared a photo showing the fluid drained from her knee, indicating the challenges she faced in preparing for the doubles event.

Serena’s agent, Jill Smoller, confirmed that the tennis star had injured her knee during the singles match but is determined to recover in time for her upcoming doubles match. Serena remains focused on returning to the court and is optimistic about her future matches.

Fans and supporters eagerly await Serena’s next appearance on the court, as she continues to strive for success in her Grand Slam journey.
