A 23-year-old woman named Andrea Shaw has been formally charged with the murder of her 18-month-old twins over a year after their tragic deaths in Payette, Idaho. The twin boy and girl were discovered lifeless in a shared bed on May 1, 2025, prompting an extensive investigation by the Payette Police Department.
Shortly following the twins’ passing, Shaw made an appearance on a podcast associated with Children’s Health Defense, an organization opposed to vaccinations, along with her spouse. During the podcast, she implied that the twins fell ill after receiving three vaccines, expressing regret for previously supporting vaccines and stating that she now wished she had been against them.
Shaw, who recently gave birth to another child on June 25, was peacefully apprehended in Boise, Idaho. Her legal counsel, Joe Filicetti, maintains that the deaths of the twins may be linked to vaccinations, echoing Shaw’s statements made during the podcast. Filicetti cited medical experts who are exploring potential complications that could have arisen from the vaccines.
Law enforcement initially treated the case as a homicide investigation due to the unusual circumstances of the twins’ simultaneous deaths. An officer remarked on the rarity of such an occurrence and expressed hope that the autopsies would provide answers to the many lingering questions surrounding the tragic incident.
In a statement issued on June 30, the Payette Police Department acknowledged the arrest of Shaw as the outcome of a comprehensive investigation conducted in collaboration with various partner agencies. The statement indicated that due to the pending legal proceedings, further details and evidence related to the case would be disclosed through the judicial process.
Currently detained at the Ada County Jail, Shaw is awaiting extradition to Payette County, where she will face charges of First Degree Murder for the deaths of her twin children.
