“7-Year-Old Gravely Injured in Dog Attack, Family’s Fundraiser Surpasses Goal”

A 7-year-old girl named Patricia sustained severe injuries to her scalp and legs after being attacked by multiple dogs. The incident occurred on June 27 around 12:30 p.m. near Corning. Patricia’s family has organized a GoFundMe campaign to assist with her recovery, with her grandmother, Monica Edmiston, leading the effort.

Edmiston described the attack as leaving Patricia with extensive wounds, including her scalp being ripped off. Despite the ordeal, Patricia’s strength has been an inspiration to those around her. Her father and brothers have been providing unwavering support during her hospital stay, even sleeping in their car to stay close to her.

An update on the fundraiser revealed that Patricia was discharged from the hospital on June 30 but still faces a challenging road ahead. The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office has seized six dogs believed to be involved in the attack for further investigation. No arrests have been made as the inquiry continues.

The fundraiser has exceeded its initial goal of $3,000, raising over $4,100 to help Patricia’s family with expenses during her recovery. Those willing to contribute can do so by visiting the GoFundMe page. The authorities have assured that more information will be provided as the investigation progresses.
