“Gas Canister Explosion Leaves Man and Child Critical”

A man and a child are in critical condition following a gas canister explosion that occurred inside a vehicle in West Yorkshire. The incident happened around 2.15pm on Sunday near the Hare and Hounds Inn on Liley Lane, Mirfield. Emergency services discovered five individuals inside the vehicle, including four children and one man.

All occupants sustained severe burns and were swiftly transported to the hospital for medical care. Among them, a 43-year-old man and an eight-year-old girl sustained life-threatening injuries, while the other three children are believed to have sustained injuries that may have long-term effects. West Yorkshire Police stated that although an investigation is underway, there are no suspicions of foul play.

According to Yorkshire Live, the explosion in the vicinity of Huddersfield was caused by a gas canister detonating inside a tipper truck. Following the report of the explosion, air ambulance teams were dispatched to the location. West Yorkshire Police issued a statement confirming that they are actively investigating the incident but do not suspect any malicious intent.
