A court was informed today that a man described as a “predatory serial sexual attacker” committed the murders of two vulnerable women and assaulted a third over an eight-month period.
Simon Levy, aged 40, allegedly sought out sex workers and individuals struggling with drug addiction as targets for his crimes, believing he could evade detection. Levy, who is visually impaired in one eye, faces accusations of raping his first victim, who was left severely injured, in January 2025.
According to the prosecution, Levy assaulted the first victim by forcefully pushing her to the ground, jumping on her, and then strangling her while uttering threats. The charges also allege that he went on to kill Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, in March of that year, followed by the murder of Sheryl Wilkins five months later.
Sheryl, aged 39, met her tragic end in the same car park in Tottenham where the initial assault took place, near Levy’s residence and the local Premier League team’s stadium. Prosecutor Tom Little, KC, outlined the case at the Old Bailey, emphasizing the pattern of predatory sexual attacks on three vulnerable women in early 2025.
The victims, including a woman in her 30s who had been trafficked to the UK, shared the commonality of engaging in sex work or exchanging sexual services for money or drugs. The prosecution asserted that Levy deliberately targeted them due to this shared vulnerability, with the belief that he could escape accountability.
Levy was apprehended in September and charged with the murders of Sheryl and Carmenza. Evidence presented in court indicated Levy’s DNA was found on Carmenza’s body, linking him to the crime. The prosecution maintained that all three women were targeted by the same perpetrator, who they identified as Levy.
The trial proceedings revealed disturbing details of the assaults, describing a series of attacks by a single individual with a pattern of behavior consistent with a predatory serial offender. Levy, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, listened to the proceedings in court wearing sunglasses due to his visual impairment.
The trial, including charges of rape, grievous bodily harm with intent, and non-fatal suffocation, continues as the prosecution builds its case against Levy.
