A former student from Nottingham Trent University has been tragically found deceased nearly a week after disappearing during a run in Peru.
Jordan Maginley, aged 29, was last observed on security footage jogging along the Malecón de Miraflores, a six-mile cliffside walkway in Lima, Peru’s capital, on June 14.
Originally from Peru, Maginley pursued a four-year quantity surveying program at Nottingham Trent University from 2016 to 2020.
At the time of his passing, Maginley held a senior quantity surveyor position at construction consultancy Gleeds, which established an office in Lima in 2020.
Reports from local media indicate that Maginley encountered a medical crisis while running and was subsequently transported to a medical facility.
Due to a lack of identification, Maginley was admitted as an unknown patient and was not initially connected to the missing persons probe.
After verification of documents and collaboration with diplomatic authorities, Maginley’s body was identified on June 20 in Peru.
Following his disappearance, an appeal was issued to locate Maginley when he did not return from his run.
Security footage captured Maginley running along the coastal path shortly before his disappearance.
An inquiry into the circumstances encircling his demise is presently in progress.
