A 14-year-old girl’s body was discovered in Duffryn Park, Blaina, Wales, prompting a murder investigation. The remains were found on June 22 around 10 pm. Although formal identification is pending, it is suspected to be Lilly, a missing girl. Her family has been notified, and authorities are determining the cause of death.
Police have cordoned off Pilgrims Park in Blaina, where the incident occurred. Gwent Police had issued an appeal for information about Lilly, who was last seen on June 20 in Blaina. Described as white, 5ft6in tall, with long black hair, she was wearing a black dress and sandals. Lilly was known to have connections in Brynmawr.
Community members, including Councillor Lisa Catherine Winnett, expressed shock and sympathy for Lilly’s family. Efforts to locate her involved extensive searches by locals, drones, and helicopters. No arrests have been made yet, and it remains uncertain if Lilly knew the perpetrator.
