“Prince William Rides London Bus to Amplify Earthshot Prize Impact”

Prince William rode a London bus today to showcase the global impact of his Earthshot Prize. Accompanied by environmentalist Robert Irwin, son of the late Steve Irwin, they traveled on a specially-branded electric double-decker along route ‘2030’ through London.

The duo, along with two young climate activists, boarded the 3,000th bus added to Transport for London’s fleet. They headed to London’s historic Guildhall, where the Earthshot Prize Impact Assembly was part of London Climate Action Week.

Launched in 2020, the Earthshot Prize aims to amplify innovative solutions to climate change and environmental crises worldwide. Over ten years, the initiative will award £5 million annually to winners, offering mentoring and support.

The event gathered finalists, winners, and global leaders to celebrate progress and introduce new initiatives. Prince William expressed optimism about the tangible progress made through the Earthshot Prize, highlighting the positive impact on carbon reduction, land preservation, water conservation, and waste management.

Looking ahead to the future, Prince William emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges. He urged tech company CEOs at a separate conference to take bold steps in reversing environmental damage.

At the launch of London Climate Action Week, Prince William, joined by tech leaders, pledged to combat wildlife trafficking online. He underscored the need for continued efforts in fighting climate change and protecting wildlife.

In a call to action, Prince William encouraged business leaders to be more ambitious and courageous in their environmental commitments. Notably, the event also featured actors Emma Watson and Benedict Cumberbatch alongside environmental discussions.

Overall, Prince William’s Earthshot Prize continues to inspire progress and drive meaningful change towards a sustainable future.
