Police are seeking assistance from the public following the abduction of a four-year-old child while his mother was attending to a baby.
The young boy disappeared while playing near a fish pond at a local park in Sandwell, close to Birmingham. Authorities reported that the child went missing briefly and was later found in nearby woodland.
The incident occurred yesterday afternoon at Haden Hill Park in Cradley Heath off Halesowen Road. Law enforcement officials urge anyone with information to come forward to aid in the investigation.
“We are in the initial phases of the inquiry, and specialized officers are speaking with the child and his family to determine the exact sequence of events,” West Midlands Police stated.
The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens, of short stature with curly hair, clean-shaven, and dressed in black attire. Although believed to be an isolated event, police acknowledge the community’s concerns and reassure their commitment to resolving the issue.
CCTV footage is being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation, and witnesses are encouraged to provide any relevant information. The public is urged to contact the authorities if they were present at the park during the incident or have mobile recordings.
Individuals with information are requested to contact the police by dialing 101 and referencing log number 3966-180626. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be submitted to Crimestoppers at 0800 555111.
Additional police presence will be deployed in the area for the next few days to offer support and reassurance. Members of the public are encouraged to communicate any details that may assist in the case.
