A devoted Love Island fan got into trouble with the police for speeding on the highway to rush back home in time for the latest episode of her favorite reality show. The incident took place in Arizona’s Pinal County, where the woman was caught driving at 108 mph in a 65 mph zone on June 9.
Law enforcement officers were surprised when they discovered her reason for the excessive speeding was her eagerness to watch Love Island. She was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal speeding and reckless driving. Her vehicle was impounded for 20 days as a consequence of her actions.
In a similar incident on the same day, another unidentified driver was stopped for speeding on his way to church. The driver was clocked at 93 mph in a 50 mph zone on the Maricopa Casa Grande Highway as he rushed to attend a sermon. Like the Love Island fan, he was also arrested and charged with criminal speeding and reckless driving, and his car was handed over to the front seat passenger.
These incidents were highlighted in the Arizona Department of Safety Highway Patrol’s social media post “Speeding Saturday,” emphasizing the consequences of reckless driving behaviors.
