The leader of Venezuela’s notorious Tren de Aragua gang has met his demise in a decisive US military operation, as confirmed by former President Donald Trump.
Taking to Truth Social, Trump announced, “Under my orders, the United States Southern Command conducted a swift and lethal strike to eliminate Nino Guerrero, the infamous head of Tren De Aragua, a highly violent terrorist group on a global scale.”
He emphasized, “The terrorists of Tren de Aragua will no longer find safety in Venezuela or elsewhere. With my leadership, we will pursue these brutal criminals and drug kingpins relentlessly, sending them to face the consequences they deserve.”
Trump also shared a striking video showing a building with a green roof being obliterated from above. While the exact timing of the attack was not disclosed by Trump, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth noted that it occurred earlier in the week at a Tren de Aragua facility in Venezuela.
Authorities in Venezuela have yet to make any official statements regarding the operation.
This development coincides with the US Central Command reporting the interception of several Iranian one-way drones attempting to target commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, a focal point in ongoing peace negotiations.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi expressed openness to potential modifications in the peace deal between Iran and the US, signaling progress towards resolving the conflict. He asserted that the tentative agreement demonstrates Iran’s strengthened position post-conflict, declaring on state television, “Iran emerges victorious in the war with the US.”
