The York sisters, who are the offspring of disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, have come under scrutiny recently for not paying rent for their residences in royal palaces, despite not being active members of the royal family. A recent investigation by the National Audit Office has revealed that the sisters do not contribute financially towards their living arrangements, as the expenses are covered by the Privy Purse, sourced from the King’s private income via the Duchy of Lancaster.
