Heavy rain and wintry conditions are set to impact the UK today, with a rain band moving across the country from the Atlantic. The Met Office predicts that various regions in the UK will experience heavy rainfall at times, which will gradually ease by the evening. Claire Nasir from the Met Office mentioned that a rain band originating from the Atlantic will advance eastwards throughout the day, accompanied by increasing winds and potentially heavier rainfall.
Friday will see cloudy skies, occasional rain showers, and a fresh breeze across the UK before warmer weather arrives from the southwest over the weekend. The Met Office anticipates that while the north may still experience some rain or showers on Saturday, the overall weekend weather will be dry with sunny intervals and increasing warmth.
Brighter conditions are expected to move in from the west on Saturday, bringing warmer and drier weather to England and Wales. Showers are likely to linger in Scotland and the north of England on Saturday, with a drier outlook expected for the entire UK on Sunday. Temperatures could reach up to 26C in the South East on Sunday afternoon, with high levels of grass pollen over the weekend.
