“Former MasterChef Host Gregg Wallace Lists £1.295M Country Retreat”

Former MasterChef host Gregg Wallace has put his picturesque country retreat up for sale for £1.295 million, which includes a carp lake on the property. Wallace, who recently announced his decision to sell his Kent home to embark on new adventures in Yorkshire and Italy with his family, is eager for a fresh start and not facing financial struggles post his BBC departure.

The five-bedroom home in Biddenden, near Ashford, was purchased by Wallace for £810,000 in 2008. Described as “immaculate” by estate agents, the property sits on approximately 5 acres of land, featuring gardens, woodlands, pasture, a stable yard, and a workshop.

Highlighted by estate agents Harpers and Hurlingham, the spacious detached family home offers equestrian facilities and exquisite interiors. The property includes a grand entrance hall, a vast sitting and dining room with a fireplace, a family room, a study, a modern kitchen/breakfast room, and more on the ground floor. Upstairs, there are multiple bedrooms, including a principal suite with a dressing room and a bath/shower room.

The property boasts a driveway with ample parking, a stable yard with five stables, a hay barn, a workshop, and a charming terrace with a fountain for outdoor gatherings. Additionally, the estate features an orchard with apple, pear, plum, and peach trees.

Wallace, 61, expressed his desire to relocate to be closer to his daughter and to enjoy the sense of community in a town setting. The decision to move follows controversies surrounding Wallace’s exit from MasterChef due to misconduct allegations, which he publicly apologized for and clarified his intentions were never to cause harm.

An independent inquiry was conducted by MasterChef’s production company Banijay following reports of inappropriate behavior. While Wallace denies the most severe allegations, the investigation upheld several complaints of unwelcome physical contact, indecent exposure, and culturally insensitive remarks.
