“Mother’s Plea: Missing Teen’s Whereabouts Still Unknown”

A distressed mother has made a heartfelt plea for her missing 15-year-old son to return home as authorities took a 20-year-old man into custody on suspicion of murder.

Taylor Charlton, aged 15, disappeared on the evening of May 8, prompting a comprehensive search effort by police to locate the teenager from Barnstaple. Devon and Cornwall Police disclosed that an arrest was executed at a residence in North Devon following the receipt of new information by investigators. The detained individual is currently under police supervision.

The latest confirmed sighting of Taylor, who has since turned 15, was captured on CCTV near a footpath adjacent to Tarka leisure center in Barnstaple, heading towards the River Taw.

In a prior public appeal, Taylor’s mother, Zoe, expressed her anguish, urging him to return home, emphasizing her love and worry. She assured him that he was not in trouble and implored him to reach out to someone as they eagerly awaited his safe return.

His father, Alex, also pleaded for any information, describing Taylor as affectionate, loyal, and unique, eagerly anticipating his homecoming.

Describing the ongoing efforts, Detective Inspector Charlotte Heath, leading the investigation, highlighted the extensive resources allocated by Devon and Cornwall Police and neighboring forces over the past five weeks. Despite these efforts, Taylor’s whereabouts remain unknown. Recent information has surfaced suggesting possible harm to Taylor, resulting in the apprehension of a male suspect for further investigation.

Sector Inspector Andy Wills reiterated the commitment to uncovering the truth for Taylor’s family and community, urging the public to refrain from unverified speculation and allowing the investigative process to proceed unhindered.
