A massive fire has erupted at a large Honda facility close to Barcelona. The Honda Motor España plant in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda is engulfed in flames, with thick smoke billowing into the sky. The fire started on the roof of the building, which is equipped with solar panels.
Approximately 17 fire trucks are on the scene, working to contain the fire. Authorities have advised people nearby to avoid approaching the area and engaging in outdoor activities. They also recommended keeping doors and windows closed in case of smoke.
Emergency services are focusing on preventing the fire from spreading to other parts of the industrial estate. Due to the fire, there is heavy traffic congestion on the AP-7 motorway near Barberà del Vallès. Footage captured from a nearby highway shows smoke emanating from the burning facility.
Rescue crews are actively present at the site, as shown in a video posted by the local fire service. The fire department reported that the blaze has engulfed the entire building but confirmed that there have been no injuries. Efforts are ongoing to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring warehouses.
