A tragic incident occurred at a nursery school in Monclova, Mexico, where a six-year-old boy named Ian Gael Hernández lost his life after a swing he was playing on collapsed suddenly. The incident took place on Monday morning while Ian was enjoying playtime at school. He fell from the swing, hitting his head on the stones at the edge of the playground.
Family members, feeling that the ambulance was taking too long to arrive, decided to rush Ian to a nearby hospital themselves. Unfortunately, upon reaching the hospital, medical staff confirmed that Ian had no vital signs.
Following this heartbreaking event, an investigation has been initiated by the Coahuila State Attorney General’s Office to determine the cause of the swing’s collapse and to examine any potential maintenance, supervision, or safety procedure lapses at the María Helena Chanes nursery school.
Local residents have raised concerns about the neglected state of the playground equipment, suggesting it had been in disrepair for some time. In response, the swing involved in the incident was removed from the school premises on Wednesday. As a precaution, children had not returned to school by that time.
Ian leaves behind his grieving parents, grandparents, a four-year-old sister, and a two-year-old brother. His mother, Escarleth Guel Puente, expressed her sorrow in an online tribute, lamenting the loss of her beloved son and reflecting on the difficulty of explaining his absence to his siblings.
