An unlawful 7,500-ton waste deposit was discovered in close proximity to a former Premier League soccer arena. Startling aerial photographs reveal a mix of household and commercial refuse scattered along a 50-meter stretch of land in Bradford. The decaying heap resides opposite Valley Parade, the home stadium of League One club Bradford City.
Residents raised the alarm two weeks ago after detecting a strong foul odor emanating from the location during the recent heatwave. The Environment Agency has initiated an inquiry into the waste site and is actively pursuing those accountable for the illegal disposal.
Located just off Midland Road in Manningham, the site features the rear section of a large truck and deteriorating containers. An anonymous resident disclosed witnessing unfamiliar trucks accessing the land and depositing waste there. They cited the issue becoming prominent during the heatwave, causing an overpowering smell of decomposing food and waste to engulf the vicinity, forcing residents to keep windows and doors shut.
Local officials condemned the situation, labeling it as utterly unacceptable and a blatant disregard for the community and the environment. They vowed zero tolerance towards anyone treating Manningham as a dumping site, emphasizing that illegal waste dumping, regardless of its size, has no place in the area.
