A woman called her partner to share her unusual feeling, only to learn that she had a few months left to live. Michelle Shoveller, a 42-year-old carer from Kent, was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a severe type of brain tumor, after experiencing vertigo as her only symptom.
Upon receiving the distressing call from Michelle, her boyfriend Lee Cuzner rushed to her side, finding her in a critical condition. She had multiple seizures, prompting Lee to perform CPR until medical help arrived. Michelle was taken to the hospital for scans, which revealed brain lesions and later confirmed the presence of a cancerous tumor.
Following a lengthy surgery to remove part of the tumor, Michelle’s condition worsened as the remaining portion regrew rapidly. Subsequently, she was informed that her illness was terminal, with a life expectancy of around a year to 18 months. Despite the heartbreaking news, the couple embarked on a memorable family trip to Disneyland Paris before Michelle underwent further treatments and transitioned to end-of-life care.
Michelle now faces challenges with mobility and sensation on one side of her body and is undergoing experimental treatments funded by her family. To support her medical expenses and enhance her remaining time, a GoFundMe page has been set up by the couple. Lee expressed their determination to create lasting memories and alleviate future financial burdens by continuing to enjoy outings together.
The couple’s enduring bond of 28 years has kept them strong throughout Michelle’s battle with brain cancer, demonstrating their commitment to cherishing each moment and preparing for the inevitable.
