Two individuals have been taken into custody as part of a homicide inquiry in Leicester following the death of a man who sustained severe injuries and passed away on Compton Road. The incident prompted a prompt response from emergency services early on Sunday morning, with police alerted by the East Midlands Ambulance Service at 6.58 am.
The victim, a male in his late twenties, was discovered by paramedics on the street and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Subsequently, two men, aged 36 and 27, were apprehended on suspicion of murder and are currently detained by authorities.
Forensic experts were observed conducting investigations at the location, with a police tent set up within the cordoned area initially. Although the tent has been removed, the cordon and privacy screens remain in place on Compton Road near Narborough Road.

Detective Inspector Kevin Hames, of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, emphasized that the investigation is in its early stages and urged anyone with relevant information or footage to come forward. He encouraged individuals who were in the vicinity of Compton Road to report any suspicious activities they may have witnessed and to provide any CCTV or dashcam recordings from the area.
