Trump Warns Iran: Unprecedented Response to Assassination Threats

Donald Trump has disclosed that he has provided his advisors with directives in case of a potential assassination by Iran. The US President’s statement follows his recent characterization of himself as Iran’s primary target. Trump emphasized that he has instructed to respond with unprecedented levels of bombing if any harm befalls him.

The warning from Trump came after public calls for his demise at the funeral of Iran’s late supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Through his Truth Social platform, Trump conveyed a message asserting readiness with 1000 missiles prepared and aimed at Iran, with additional armaments on standby in response to perceived threats against his life.

In response to escalating tensions, the US has urged Iran to confirm the unrestricted access through the Strait of Hormuz without fear of attack on ships traversing the vital waterway. Recent vessel incidents have been attributed to internal power struggles within Tehran, as hardline factions aim to disrupt the fragile peace.

While Trump acknowledged ongoing discussions with Iran following recent conflicts, he indicated an end to the ceasefire. As negotiations continue, Tehran’s top diplomat reiterated Iran’s exclusive authority over activities in the Gulf channel, signaling a potential obstacle in achieving a lasting resolution.

Historically, the demand to alleviate Tehran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz has been a focal point in diplomatic negotiations. The current agreement between the US and Iran guarantees secure passage through the waterway for a limited period, pending final deliberations on Iran’s nuclear program.

The pact delegates the responsibility of defining the future administration and services in the Strait of Hormuz to Iran, Oman, and other Gulf states. Iran’s insistence on regulating ship transit through the strait persists, complicating efforts to secure long-term stability in the region.

Trump’s stance on potential threats from Iran remains steadfast, with previous statements indicating a willingness to unleash the US military if his safety is compromised. The president’s executive order in February 2025 emphasized imposing “maximum pressure” on the regime, warning of severe consequences should any harm befall him.
