A tragic incident occurred in Peru as a small aircraft operated by Aerodiana crashed, resulting in the loss of all 13 individuals on board. The crash took place near Nazca city, where the plane was on a sightseeing tour of the famous Nazca Lines, ancient geoglyphs etched into the desert by Peru’s Indigenous people.
The aircraft, a Cessna Grand Caravan belonging to Aerodiana, departed from Ica with a group of 11 foreign tourists and two crew members, including passengers from Germany, Spain, and Italy. The Peruvian Ministry for Trade and Tourism confirmed the nationalities of those on board.
Following the tragic event, the municipal government of Nazca expressed condolences to the families of the victims. Aerodiana also released a statement expressing deep sorrow over the accident and pledging cooperation with authorities in the investigation. The company will assess its flight operations in line with regulatory requirements.
The victims have not yet been officially identified, and the Peruvian authorities are conducting an investigation into the crash.
