The Isle of Man TT race organizers have sadly confirmed the passing of 33-year-old Daniel Ingham following a tragic incident during a qualifying session. Ingham, hailing from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, lost his life after an accident at Doran’s Bend on the race course.
The unfortunate event took place during the first lap of the third qualifying session in the Sidecar class. Ingham is survived by his wife and two children.
In a statement, the Isle of Man TT Races expressed their sorrow over the loss of Ingham, highlighting his racing career that began in 2016 at the Manx Grand Prix and later transitioned to the Isle of Man TT Races. Throughout his decade-long racing journey, Ingham achieved several podium finishes, notably securing a first-place victory in the 2024 Senior Manx Grand Prix.
The race organizers extended their deepest sympathies to Ingham’s family, including his wife, Helayna, and his two children, Joey and Phoebe, along with his loved ones and friends.
Following the incident, the Isle of Man TT suspended the Sidecar class for the remainder of the ongoing event until June 6. The decision was made to prioritize the safety of competitors and spectators, reflecting the organization’s commitment to stringent safety protocols and event management.
Ingham, who made his TT debut in 2026 after years of competing on the Mountain Course, had a successful racing career that included participation in the Manx Grand Prix and a notable victory in the Senior Manx Grand Prix two years prior. Tributes have poured in following the news of his untimely passing.
This marks the first fatality at the TT since 2024 and comes shortly after a fatal accident at the Billown circuit during the Pre-TT Classic Road Races last weekend.
