A young woman, identified as Isabella Alexandria Stroupe, aged 19, was discovered deceased under distressing circumstances in a residence in east Charlotte, North Carolina. Authorities responded to a call reporting an unresponsive individual at a property on Yateswood Drive. Upon arrival, the police found the victim bound to a bloodstained mattress in a bedroom. The medical examiner’s office later confirmed her death as a homicide. Thomaz Kenon Hamilton, aged 24 and reportedly the victim’s boyfriend, was taken into custody in connection with the incident.
Investigations revealed disturbing details, suggesting that the victim had endured prolonged mistreatment, leading to severe injuries including broken bones and stab wounds. Evidence collected at the scene, such as a bloodstained knife, a baseball bat, a sword, multiple cell phones, and clothing possibly stained with blood, pointed towards a violent ordeal. It was alleged that Hamilton had subjected the young woman to torture over an extended period, and the legal charges brought against him included both murder and rape.
In memory of Isabella, a candlelight vigil was held at Camp Greene Park in west Charlotte, where mourners gathered to pay their respects. Described as a creative individual with a passion for art, reading, and anime, Isabella’s tragic fate has deeply affected her loved ones. Her mother, Emily Stroupe, expressed their profound sorrow over the loss, emphasizing Isabella’s innocence and the unjust circumstances surrounding her death.
The case continues to be under investigation, with authorities urging anyone with relevant information to come forward. The community, including support groups like Mothers of Murdered Offspring, has rallied to remember and honor the life of the young victim, highlighting the need for justice and awareness of such tragic incidents.
