GardaĆ have initiated an inquiry following the death of a male individual at a music festival in East Cork today, July 19. The man, believed to be in his late 40s, was discovered unresponsive in his tent at the Love Is A Stranger Festival located at Ballyvolane House near Fermoy. Despite the arrival of emergency services, he was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
Subsequently, the festival has been canceled as a mark of respect. The tragic news has been conveyed to the man’s family, as per reports from Cork Beo. Organizers released a statement expressing their deep sorrow over the incident, extending sympathies to the deceased’s family and friends during this challenging period.
The organizers stated, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of a festival attendee today. Our thoughts are with the individual’s family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We are cooperating fully with An Garda SĆochĆ”na and emergency services and will refrain from further comments while investigations are ongoing. In consideration of those impacted, today’s closing concert has been axed. We extend our gratitude to the emergency services, our team, volunteers, attendees, and hosts for their unwavering support and understanding.”
