A postman from Royal Mail was captured on video urinating outside a residence in Nottingham. The incident, which caused distress to the occupants, was recorded by a Ring doorbell camera while the postman was on his delivery route. The act took place in Wollaton, Nottingham, around 11:30 am on a Saturday when no one was home.
The footage shows the postman unzipping his shorts and relieving himself against a wall near a garden gate. The mother of one of the residents at the property expressed her surprise, stating that they received a notification from their camera but the postman had already left by the time they saw it. She mentioned that they would have confronted him through the camera if they had noticed earlier.
Despite understanding the possibility of the postman having an urgent need, the woman pointed out the proximity of a Post Office just a short distance away, emphasizing that he could have used that facility instead. She expressed disappointment that the postman did not attempt to contact them or a neighbor for assistance.
Royal Mail issued an apology for the incident and assured that they were investigating the matter to understand the full context. They sent an email to the property occupants expressing regret for the experience and emphasizing their commitment to customer service. A spokesperson for Royal Mail stated that the behavior exhibited was not in line with their expectations and that appropriate actions would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
