Rock Musician Caleb Shomo Proudly Comes Out as Gay

Rock musician Caleb Shomo, previously known for his work with bands like Attack Attack! and Beartooth, recently made a public declaration about his sexuality. After years of concealing his true feelings, Shomo courageously announced that he is a proud gay man. The announcement was met with support from his wife of 13 years, Fleur.

Addressing rumors surrounding his personal life, Shomo took to Instagram to clarify his stance, stating, “I feel compelled to set the record straight before it affects those I love any further. I am a proudly gay man.” Following his announcement, Fleur released a statement acknowledging the end of their marriage but asserting her continued love and support for Shomo.

While Fleur has expressed her approval, she also admitted to the emotional challenges she is facing during this period. In a social media post, she shared her mixed feelings, expressing the difficulty of supporting Shomo while dealing with her own emotions.

Shomo and Fleur’s relationship began in 2010 when they met during one of Shomo’s tours. Initially friends due to the long-distance nature of their connection, their romantic relationship blossomed during a subsequent tour in the UK.

Throughout his career, Shomo has been open about his struggles with mental health issues, including depression and substance abuse. These challenges led him to quit Attack Attack! in 2012, a decision he described as a turning point in his life.

In his recent announcement, Shomo shared how concealing his true self had impacted his well-being, revealing that he had used alcohol to suppress his emotions for a decade. The musician expressed hope for self-acceptance and self-love in the future.

Looking ahead, Shomo is optimistic about his future, hinting at upcoming creative projects that will reflect his newfound honesty. Beartooth is set to release their sixth album, “Pure Ecstasy,” this summer, followed by a world tour starting in September.

According to Rough Trade, “Pure Ecstasy” promises a raw and authentic expression from Shomo, capturing his journey towards self-discovery and growth.
