Performer Calls for Trump’s Death at Iran Funeral

During the funeral ceremony for the former supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a performer made a public call for the demise of US President Donald Trump.

The remarks were delivered in front of a massive crowd in Tehran on Sunday, coinciding with President Trump’s declaration that the US had effectively dealt with Iran.

This incident marked the first explicit appeal for President Trump’s death by an individual at the funeral, where there have been displays advocating for the assassination of both the US president and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Meanwhile, negotiations between Tehran and Washington are ongoing to bring a permanent resolution to the conflict that has disrupted global energy supplies.

Poet Mohammad Rasouli incited chants of “Death to America!” and “Death to Israel!” as he addressed the audience, questioning why President Trump, whom he referred to in derogatory terms, was still alive.

The funeral procession drew a significantly larger crowd compared to the previous day, with mourners dressed in black carrying banners honoring Mr. Khamenei and advocating for President Trump’s demise while he was delivering a speech in Washington.

President Trump expressed satisfaction with the US military’s actions, citing successful operations in Venezuela and Iran, claiming to have eliminated their military capabilities.

The funeral service for the late Iranian leader, who was killed in an airstrike at the onset of the Iran war at the age of 86, serves as a platform to boost Iran’s theocracy and its new supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, his son.

This event is crucial for Iran as it leverages its strategic position in the Strait of Hormuz in the negotiations with the US for a permanent resolution to the conflict, amidst concerns of potential future attacks by Israel.

Due to the ongoing war, the funeral was delayed, and talks for a resolution are suspended until the conflict is resolved.
