An earthquake shook the popular tourist destination of Granada in Spain, causing panic among locals who described the tremors as reminiscent of an explosion. The seismic event, registering a magnitude of 3.7, originated 3.73 miles (6km) South of Granada at 3.46pm local time (2.46pm BST), with its epicenter located in the town of Ogíjares at a depth of 6 kilometers.

Residents near the affected area expressed their fear and shock, with one individual living 3km from the epicenter reporting being thrown out of bed by the intensity of the quake. Another person mentioned that they had not experienced such a strong earthquake since January 2021.

Additionally, a separate witness described the event as feeling like an explosion, with significant movements observed in floors and walls in the vicinity of the quake. This incident has generated concern and heightened awareness among the local community.
