Firefighters are currently engaged in extinguishing a fire at an adventure play park in the West Midlands. Authorities have cautioned the public to avoid Meriden Park in Chelmsley Wood this evening.
The West Midlands Fire Service issued a warning regarding the blaze shortly before 8:30 pm today. At present, four fire crews are on-site combating a fire in the trees within the popular park, according to reports from BirminghamLive.
In a statement, the West Midlands Fire Service mentioned, “We have dispatched four crews to Meriden Park, Chelmsley Wood, Solihull, in response to a fire in the trees. Please steer clear of the area, if possible.”
Meriden Adventure Playground, apart from featuring a sizable natural lake and woodland, is a prominent adventure play destination. Managed by an independent charity, it offers a substantial children’s play zone, skate park, and football pitch.
The playground is known for hosting various community events throughout the year and tends to be particularly popular during school holidays.
