A former police officer previously employed by the Metropolitan Police has entered a plea of not guilty in a case where she is accused of defrauding high-end stores of valuable merchandise, such as a £700 bikini and a MacBook.
Sunna Harrison-Aziz, aged 28 and residing in Coulsdon, South London, faces charges related to corruption and fraud, including allegations of falsely claiming non-receipt of goods ordered online. The ex-Met constable is specifically charged with five counts of misusing police powers, four counts of fraud through misrepresentation, and one count of obstructing justice.
During a recent court appearance at Southwark Crown Court, Harrison-Aziz denied all ten charges after confirming her identity. She was accompanied by Edgar Morais, aged 30 from Croydon, who also pleaded not guilty to a charge of encouraging corrupt or improper exercise of police powers by Harrison-Aziz.
The accusations against Harrison-Aziz involve incidents where she allegedly feigned non-receipt of items, including a £700 Dior bikini and a £2,599 Apple MacBook. Similar false claims were purportedly made against Cartier for a £1,920 Mini Love wedding band and Moncler Spa for an £840 Abelle jacket.
Additionally, the former officer is accused of unauthorized access to police records on five occasions between January and September 2022. Another charge alleges that she attempted to obstruct justice by concealing her iPhone from authorities, falsely reporting it as lost or damaged, and subsequently destroying the device following a police search of her residence.
The trial for these charges is scheduled to commence on March 27, 2028. Judge Nicholas Rimmer informed Harrison-Aziz that her trial date was set as soon as possible, despite the substantial delay. A third defendant, Eugene Nunoo, aged 30 from Eastbourne, East Sussex, also pleaded not guilty to encouraging Harrison-Aziz to misuse her police powers. Nunoo appeared in court via video link on a separate occasion.
