Police in Essex have confiscated 13 luxury sports cars, including Lamborghinis, a Ferrari, and a Porsche, following reports of reckless and disruptive driving on the M11 highway.
According to Essex Police, they responded to calls from concerned members of the public about a group of high-performance vehicles speeding northbound on the motorway around 4:20 pm on Tuesday.
Witnesses reported that the cars were accelerating rapidly and then abruptly slowing down, with drivers aggressively braking and causing traffic disturbances.
The drivers were also accused of driving closely together and using the hard shoulder to overtake other vehicles, the police mentioned.
Authorities intercepted the cars at Junction 8 and issued warnings to the drivers for their anti-social driving behavior.
Sergeant Will Willsher stated, “The reported behavior was not only anti-social but also posed serious risks to other road users, especially on a busy motorway during peak hours. Our Roads Policing Unit acted swiftly to locate the vehicles and take necessary enforcement actions. Speed limits are in place to ensure everyone’s safety, and all road users must adhere to the law.”
The police identified several offenses for further investigation, and inquiries are ongoing. Individuals with information, video evidence, or dashcam recordings are urged to contact Essex Police and reference incident 955 of July 28.
