“English Fans Flock to $1,978 World Cup-Themed Hotel Room at ‘Dallas’ Southfork Ranch”

In Dallas, a unique and coveted World Cup-themed hotel room has been drawing enthusiastic English couples ahead of the tournament. Located at Southfork Ranch, where the iconic TV series “Dallas” was filmed, this special room, known as JR Ewing’s bedroom, requires guests to pay $1,978 (£1,475) per night, commemorating the year the show first aired.

Fans of the Three Lions have been flocking to the museum at the ranch, leaving messages on a wall indicating their origins from cities like Newcastle, Birmingham, London, Manchester, and even a small town like March in Cambridgeshire.

LuCretia Buckett, the operations manager, shared an interesting anecdote about a couple from London who flew in to stay in JR’s bed, showcasing their dedication to the show by returning to England the very next morning.

Southfork Ranch served as the set for the “Dallas” series from 1979 to 1989, with lead actor Larry Hagman, who portrayed JR Ewing, frequently visiting the location out of his love for the place and its fans.

The ranch’s popularity soared as fans discovered its connection to the show, prompting large crowds to visit. LuCretia reminisced about her childhood in the area and explained how the ranch was chosen for filming due to its ideal setting, despite some challenges like filming during the scorching summer months.

As football fans gravitate towards the museum during the World Cup, the historical ties between England and “Dallas” are reignited, with LuCretia speculating that JR Ewing would have seized the opportunity to capitalize on such a major event.

Following their visit to the museum, England’s World Cup journey kicks off in Dallas against Croatia before heading to Boston and New York for subsequent matches.
