Security footage recently captured a dramatic incident where a car veered out of control, launching through the air and crashing into the side of a house where a 70-year-old woman was inside watching television. Despite the severity of the crash, the elderly Australian woman miraculously escaped unharmed from the terrifying ordeal.
The video footage, recorded by a neighbor’s CCTV cameras, shows a Holden Commodore, equivalent to a Vauxhall VXR8 in the UK, careening off the road, flying through the air, and landing on the roof of the residence, causing damage to the guttering and patio awning. Although the car gained significant air during the Wednesday night accident, most of the impact was concentrated on the side of the house located in Perth, Western Australia.
The homeowner recounted to Perth’s 9News that she was watching TV when the shocking crash unfolded right outside her door. Following the incident, a 22-year-old woman reportedly fled the scene but was later apprehended by the police at a nearby residence. She has been charged with dangerous driving and failure to provide information to law enforcement.
The suspect sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment. She is scheduled to appear in court at a later date before the Midland Magistrates Court for the charges brought against her.
