Noel Clarke, renowned for his portrayal in the popular sci-fi series “Doctor Who,” has been formally accused of six sexual offenses, which include two counts of sexual assault, as per the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) of England and Wales. The 50-year-old British actor and filmmaker gained fame for his role as Mickey Smith on the BBC production from 2005 to 2010. The charges against Clarke also involve one count of exposure and three counts of voyeurism. In legal terms, voyeurism refers to the act of observing or recording someone engaging in a private activity without their consent, often for personal gratification.
The alleged incidents involving Clarke are reported to have occurred between 2007 and 2016, based on claims made by five women. This legal action comes after a notable expose published by The Guardian five years earlier, which detailed accusations of harassment, groping, and bullying by 20 women, some claiming inappropriate conduct during the filming of “Doctor Who.” Clarke vehemently denied these allegations.
The recent charges stem from an investigation initiated in September 2025, as reported by The Guardian. Clarke is scheduled to make a court appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on October 21. Apart from his role in “Doctor Who,” Clarke is recognized for his work as a writer and actor in the teen crime drama trilogy comprising “Kidulthood” (2006), “Adulthood” (2008), and “Brotherhood” (2016), addressing themes of substance abuse, bullying, and street violence in London. He directed “Adulthood” and served as director and producer for “Brotherhood.” His diverse on-screen portfolio includes appearances in “Centurion” (2010), “Fast Girls” (2012), “Star Trek Into Darkness” (2013), and the television series “Bulletproof” (2018-2021).
