A pub in the US that served over 5,000 beers to England fans had to shut down during a viewing party for the Three Lions’ victory against Croatia in the World Cup due to chaotic behavior.
The Londoner Pub in Dallas, Texas, was ordered to close early by the fire marshal as videos on social media captured England supporters flooding back into the establishment.
This incident occurred shortly after the pub reportedly made over £30,000 in sales by selling 2,352 bottles of beer.
The Dallas Police were present outside the pub as unruly fans, draped in St George’s flags, lingered around the premises even after being dispersed earlier.
The pub released a statement expressing gratitude for the business but emphasized that their sales did not justify the property damage caused during the chaotic events.
The closure was attributed to the disorderly conduct that ensued, leading to the fire marshal’s order to shut down for the remainder of the day.
Despite attempts to manage the situation, the pub clarified that reports of sales figures were exaggerated and did not factor in the damages incurred.
The pub management reminded guests that they were part of a business complex that also includes residential areas in Mockingbird Station.
On a previous occasion, the venue hosted hundreds of England fans who defied police instructions to vacate the premises, engaging in disruptive activities like kicking a football onto the balcony and dropping plants from the edge.
Law enforcement intervened, dispersing the crowds before 10 pm and some fans remained on the balcony for a few more hours post-evacuation.
The early closure was necessitated by the venue reaching full capacity with minimal security personnel on duty.
The Londoner Pub announced plans to reopen at 11 am on Thursday for its patrons to return.
