As a result, a one-game championship showdown has been scheduled in Winnipeg on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET, marking a return to the traditional championship format used in previous years.
Brampton initially took a 6-0 lead in the final game before Winnipeg leveled the score. The game was interrupted when Sea Bears’ Xavier Moon slipped on the court, prompting the cancellation of the match with 8:14 left in the first quarter. The decision was made to ensure the safety of players, officials, and fans.
Honey Badgers CEO Al Whitley expressed regret over the cancellation, acknowledging the unfortunate turn of events. The teams had previously met twice during the season, with Brampton emerging victorious in both encounters.
