The victim, John Wesley Allen Sr, was found stabbed multiple times in East St. Louis, prompting a police investigation that led to the teenager’s apprehension the following day.
Residents had reported unsettling encounters with the teenager on the night of the incident, with some recalling his disturbing behavior of whispering eerie threats while clad in a clown costume. Surveillance footage captured the individual approaching homes and making unsettling remarks before the tragic event unfolded.
Witnesses described the teenager carrying a large knife while wandering the neighborhood, causing unease among locals. One resident, Corrine Spry, recounted observing the clown-like figure with a knife for nearly an hour before law enforcement intervened.
