Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is commemorating her 45th birthday today, following her recent return to the UK after an extended absence. Throughout the year, she has been engaged in various activities, both domestically and internationally. It is expected that she will opt for a quiet celebration at home with her family to mark this special occasion.
Traditionally, Meghan has chosen to keep her birthday festivities private, preferring intimate gatherings with her husband and children rather than grand celebrity events. A close friend of the Duchess revealed that this year’s birthday plans remain consistent with her past preferences.
Sources close to Meghan shared with Hello! Magazine that she desires a relaxed day in the company of loved ones for her 45th birthday, indicating that she will swiftly resume her work commitments after the celebrations conclude.
In previous years, Meghan acknowledged her birthdays in a low-key manner. Last year, on her 44th birthday, she shared a photo of herself blowing out candles on a birthday cake at a Los Angeles restaurant, expressing gratitude for the warm wishes from her supporters. Her lifestyle brand, As Ever, also extended birthday greetings to her through their Instagram account.
During her tenure as a working member of the Royal Family, Meghan would receive birthday greetings from the Palace, which would include a portrait and a kind message, customary for senior royals. However, it is speculated that for the sixth consecutive year, such public well-wishes may not be shared. Nonetheless, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond suggested that King Charles might privately acknowledge Meghan’s birthday as part of their ongoing reconciliation efforts.
Meghan has previously shared her birthday reflections, inspired by her mother Doria, on her former blog, The Tig. She considers birthdays as personal opportunities for self-reflection and setting aspirations for the year ahead, emphasizing the importance of personal growth and inspiration.
To celebrate her 40th birthday in 2021, Meghan launched a new initiative called ’40×40′, aimed at supporting women re-entering the workforce post-pandemic. Although the project was initially unveiled, it was later discontinued without progress.
