Prince William recently shared that his son, Prince George, is just like any other teenager and gets embarrassed by his parents. Prince George, who turned 13 last month and is set to attend Eton College in September, joined his family for a day out at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The royal family, including Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, watched a netball semi-final match before visiting the Team Wales base in the city center.
During their visit, Louis updated the medal count board for Team Wales with two new gold medals, to the delight of onlookers. The children were also invited to watch their parents in a tandem cycling event, but George declined, humorously stating that his parents already embarrass him enough.
The family interacted with other Commonwealth Games participants, including twins who won bronze in gymnastics. Kate mentioned Louis’ interest in handstands, to which he responded self-critically about his sister’s opinion. The children were given Welsh dragon mascot toys and cycling outfits as mementos.
Later, the family visited the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, where they met the Olympic champion and watched cycling events. William and the children left while Kate engaged in conversation with Sir Chris and other cyclists, both of whom have battled cancer in the past. Sir Chris emphasized the importance of exercise in his cancer treatment journey and how it has positively impacted his health.
In a separate development, Kate also shared her own cancer journey, revealing her diagnosis and successful treatment. Both Sir Chris and Kate have been advocates for raising awareness about cancer and the role of exercise in the healing process.
