Authorities in Greece have identified a key suspect in the case of a Scottish woman who was tragically found deceased inside a suitcase.
Elisabeth-Jane Ross, aged 38, also known as Lisa, was discovered by a homeless individual in Kypseli, Athens, on July 18. Her body was located in an abandoned parking lot, and the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear as investigators delve into the matter.
Greek law enforcement suspects that the Edinburgh native may have been deceased for approximately eight days, with no apparent signs of injury or struggle evident on her body.
Reports indicate that authorities are now seeking an individual named ‘Markos,’ a homeless man known to frequent the area where the victim was found. Markos, described as a drug user and heavy drinker in his 40s with numerous tattoos, has a reputation for aggression.
According to sources, Greek police are focused on locating Markos and are also pursuing other leads as part of the investigation into the incident.
Following the discovery of Ross’s body, it was revealed that text messages were sent from her phone posthumously to create the illusion that she was still alive until her identification by the media.
Ross reportedly traveled to Greece from the US via Cyprus on June 29, having spent time in Keratsini before planning to visit supposed “American friends” in Kypseli. Greek authorities are working to identify these individuals while awaiting toxicology test results.
Furthermore, it is believed that Ross, who had been involved in humanitarian work for several years, including assisting marginalized groups, had a strong connection to Greece’s homeless community due to her Christian beliefs.
